Melody is experiencing what it would be like to be a student in our classroom. We are a French Immersion school, half day English half day French. She will be going to French class with the students each day, learning what they are learning as well as participating in Science, gym and recess. We hope to include Melody in every aspect of our week. Melody will get to come home with me, Mrs. Lemieux. She will stay at my house while she visits. I live on a farm and she will get to visit the farm and surrounding towns. Perhaps she may even experience having a sleep over at a student's house!
We hope to learn that we are all equal and that we all have special talents that we can share. We have a "no bully zone" in our school, we have a pledge that we recite each week called a Power of a Friend. We will learn to put that pledge into practice with Melody each day.
Dear Class,
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining our project. Mrs. Lemieux, your class sounds awesome! We are so glad that Melody is getting to experience a French immersion school. It is amazing that you are learning French already. Is being in a French immersion school fun? Which classes are taught in English? Which classes are taught in French? What does your daily schedule look like?
We are super interested in your special programs for anti-bullying. Can you tell us more about the No Bullying Zone and the Power of a friend pledge? These sound like inspiring programs that we would like to have at our school.
What is your weather like in Canada right now? Our weather here has been very amazing. We have missed 3 weeks of school this winter because of heavy snowfall and ice on our roads, but for the last two days it has been very warm and windy. We have quite a few farms in our area, and five of our students live on farms like your teacher. On what kind of farm does she live?
We are excited that Melody might get to go for a sleepover. Will you make another post and tell us how the sleepover goes?
Your friends,
Ms. Hampson's 4th Grade Class
